Saturday, December 24, 2022 • 30 Kislev 5783
10:00 AM - 2:00 PMTikvat Israel CongregationThis year marks the 100th anniversary of the first bat mitzvah held in the U.S. Tikvat Israel's Women's Network is sponsoring a kiddush luncheon and program to celebrate the occasion on December 24 (Shabbat Chanukkah). Free to attend, though RSVPs are appreciated by December 20 so we know how much food to prepare. The luncheon and celebration are open to all in the congregation, regardless of gender.
Whether you became a bat mitzvah at 12, 13, or as an adult, we want to hear from you. Please share your stories as part of your RSVP in the space provided. (Even if you cannot attend on December 24, you can still submit a story via the response form.) Your memories will be incorporated into a d'var torah and into the B'Not Mitzvah Museum.
What is the B’not Mitzvah Museum? We want your pictures, invitations, programs, dresses, kippot, menus, and other bat mitzvah memorabilia to display in a temporary museum in the lobby over the course of the holiday weekend. Please submit your item to the office, with the item submission form (sent via email and available in the office), between December 5-16. All items will be returned.
