I give my permission for my child(ren) to receive emergency medical care by any nurse, doctor, paramedic or member of a medical staff of a hospital licensed by the State of Maryland. I hereby give my permission for my child(ren) to participate in all activities that are part of the regular religious school program. If my child(ren) are sick or injured and unable to participate fully, I will provide a written note indicating the limitations of participation. At Tikvat Israel Congregation, we are committed to lifelong Jewish learning. The combined Kindergarten-2nd Grade class will meet every Sunday, except for holidays, from 9:30- 11 am at Tikvat Israel. We expect parents/guardians to assist their children in getting the most out of this joyful Jewish learning experience by making every effort to have your child(ren) arrive on time and to stay for the entire 1.5 hour class each week. We do not expect perfect attendance; however, too many absences can be detrimental to the whole class. Learning opportunities will be available for parents throughout the school year to enhance parent/guardian Jewish knowledge and give parent/guardians the tools to incorporate into their home life what each child is learning in the classroom.
From time to time your child’s photo may be taken in our classrooms or special events. We use these photos in the synagogue newsletter, on our synagogue display boards, the Tikvat Israel website, social media and promotional items.
The work of raising and educating Jewish children cannot be done in the school alone, but is a project of the school, the family and the community. When you come in the building and spend time learning and volunteering with us, you make a powerful statement to your children that Jewish learning is a lifelong process and that we are all on the same team in creating these experiences for them.
Parents/guardians and Tikvat Israel work in financial partnership to cover the costs of running a religious school. (Tuition covers approximately 75% of the costs of the school.) Families who register their child(ren) by May 3rd will pay this year's tuition rate, $750 per year per child, which will be raised to $800 after May 3rd. Payments can be broken up in half. A $50 per child non-refundable registration fee is required
